The President of the Republic, who spoke to the Portuguese today, addressed the war in Ukraine and the tension also experienced in the Middle East. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who took advantage of the day of reflection, defended the urgency of accelerating the economic recovery.
The President of the Republic highlighted the serious delays in health, housing and other social areas. He pointed out “the almost silent and quietly spoken concern about what will happen outside this year and in the following years. He referred, for example, to the elections in the United States of America, what is happening in the Red Sea”, among other situations.
In statements followed by the media, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa said that it is in these moments of crisis that it is most important to vote.
“Only your vote chooses, only your vote is the final word”, he defended, considering that this is the moment to give new life to democracy.
