Tomorrow and Saturday are looking slightly better than today with wind strength, but there could well be problems at the airport, so keep checking here for updats. At the moment Sunday looks the worse day, but things could change as we go into the weekend.
The Port Authority of Funchal has just extended the strong wind warning for the coastline in the Madeira archipelago, now extending until 6 pm on Sunday.
According to the warning, “fresh to very fresh north-northeast winds, sometimes strong at first”, and “good” visibility are expected.
Regarding the state of the sea, on the North Coast, waves from the north-northeast of 2 to 2.5 meters are expected, gradually decreasing to 1.5 to 2 meters. On the South Coast, waves from the southern quadrant of 1 meter are expected.
Avoid Coastal areas with rough seas at all times.
