CMF PERFORMS IMPROVEMENT WORKS IN SANTA CATARINA PARK

The Mayor of Funchal, Miguel Silva Gouveia, accompanied by the Councilor responsible for the Public Works department at the municipality, Rúben Abreu, visited the Santa Catarina Park this week, where several improvement works are taking place.

Miguel Silva Gouveia explains that “we started a series of important interventions in this space with a view to improving the accessibility and leisure conditions of this charismatic park in the downtown area, these are works that include paving the sidewalks, repairing the existing small walls, maintaining the green spaces, and the replacement of damaged balconies ”.

“The city council executive continues to plan the city and enhance urban green spaces, and this is yet another example of our continuous investment in improving the living conditions of Funchal residents, and of all those who enjoy Funchal’s public spaces. We work so that everyone, from the youngest to the oldest, with or without physical limitations, can safely enjoy all the good experiences that the city has to offer, which is why Funchal is an accessible city and a trust capital ”, highlights the mayor.

Finally, the president stresses that the Funchal City Council “as a complement to these works that we are already carrying out, and within the scope of the requalification process of municipal infrastructure, has a project to renovate the intergenerational park of Parque de Santa Catarina, an investment that we expect to take to tender this year, and that will allow us to build, in compliance with all the current safety legislation, a modern leisure area for all families ”.
