    1. I assume a digital nomad is a traveller with a laptop but what does he/she produce ? What’s in it for Madeira, which is not a particularly cheap economy. If it’s so good and easy surely the Indian subcontinent with it’s indigenous workforce would be the place.

  4. Madeira has the opportunity to be a ‘Smart’, with state of the art tech infrastructure, hybrid transport and minimal carbon emissions. This would drive investment and visitors to the island. This would have to be done in collaboration with its nature, culture and respect to its traditions.

  7. It is not one of the cheapest places in europe
    living and working on the island is something else property rental prices are very high so is generally cost of living supermarkets restaurants clothing electronic goods etc compared to what local people earn it is not a cheap place to live and work is it ?

  8. Wrong again Mr Tobi , perhaps you should research what it’s means and what digital nomads actually do ? and how much money some people make ?
    I know there are digital nomads out there in East asia for example living on 10 – 15 euros a day budget including accommodation
    please correct me anyone if I am wrong.

    1. But I’m not talking about DN from that area of the world, we are in Europe, and they will earn a very high amount as well as those in America.

  9. Digital nomads low and high wage earners travel all around the world usually they stay in a warm tropical climate with very cheap cost of living food accommodation etc madeira is a beautiful island
    it could come across just a bit to expensive for Nomads but that’s only my opinion

  11. Well, I’m making some good money being a remote worker software engineer and Madeira looks really cheap.
