RESTAURANTS WANT MORE SUPPORT AND “CHANGE OF STRATEGY” IN SCHEDULES

The restaurants ask the government for a “change of strategy” that puts an end to schedule restrictions, accounting for billing losses of more than 70% in the last quarter and asking for more support.

“Three months of continuous restrictive measures cause abrupt billing losses, increasing 70% in revenue compared to the same period”, says the national association of restaurants PRO.VAR, in a statement released today, in which it establishes a cause-effect relationship between this drop in revenue and “the increase in unemployment (50,000 unemployed), partial closure, bankruptcies and insolvencies in the sector (more than 10,000 establishments)”.

“PRO.VAR understands that the strategy adopted by the Government, in reducing hours and closing restaurant establishments, has zero effects in combating Pandemic and serious economic consequences for the sector”, defend in a statement, in which they warn of the growing discontent customers.

According to the association, “it is now the customers themselves who protest against the measures”, who express their “incomprehension” regarding the reduced hours that promote gatherings and hurried meals on festive dates, such as the end of the year.
