46 new positive cases and over 120 recovered in Madeira

This Friday, Madeira registers 46 new positive cases of covid-19 and another 120 recovered.

These are 2 imported cases (1 from Luxembourg and 1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region) and 44 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

There are now 120 more recovered cases to report. RAM now counts 6595 cases recovered from COVID-19.

RAM counts, to date, a total of 64 deaths associated with COVID-19. “There are 819 active cases, of which 16 are imported cases and 803 are of local transmission. Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 45 people are hospitalized at Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça (37 people in Multipurpose Units and 8 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) and 15 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation “, informs the epidemiological bulletin of this Friday.

In total, there are 196 situations that are currently being considered by health authorities, these being related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

Regarding the active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, 1098 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.
