  1. Ordered made to measure net curtains from UK on 14th May, they arrived in Lisbon on 2nd June, the same day they were returned to sender because of incomplete customs paperwork. The firm have now promised me when they receive them back they will send them via DHL – watch this spot! I have also been awaiting a new bank card from the UK, first one posted on 16th February, it did arrive on 12th April, by which time I was told to cancel it by the bank. The second one was sent and they (CTT) sent it back saying not known at this address. I am still awaiting the third attempt? Trying to keep calm, but basically p*****.

  3. Don’t forget Amazon.es has a Portuguese version so at least purchases are within the EU and shouldn’t get mucked about with tax demands.

  4. Luckily this is only valid for shopping outside the EU and delivered to Madeira.

  5. I received a parcel from the United States for my birthday recently….. It contained a paper hat, 3 ballons and a paper blowout whistle……Not knowing what was in the box, and realizing it was a birthday gift from a family member, I paid 35 Euros to CTT on delivery…… The contents was supposed to be a joke, however, the joke was on me.
    I have instructed all my contacts in the USA to never send me a parcel again, under any circumstances… now the joke is on CTT.

  6. Have had some late Christmas cards every year since we have lived here (20), I think the record was April. However, guess what was in the post box today? Yes, 14th June and we receive a Christmas card from England posted on 6th. December !! Never mind, it made us laugh, especially as the franking mark stated ‘post early for Christmas’ 😃 Goodness knows where it had been as the envelope was filthy and looked like tyre marks across it. So unpredictable in both directions now so best not to use CTT for anything important, strange how quick our tax bill arrived though.
