Today, the IX edition of the ‘Winter Market’ is taking place at Mercado dos Lavradores, in the city of Funchal.
The event is promoted by Funchal City Council and will be open to the public until the 28th, Saturday, in the space dedicated to Fairs and Market Events, on the top floor.
Therefore, the fair is taking place between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm, on the first three days, and, on the last day, Saturday, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
This initiative is considered a tradition in this shopping center, where entrepreneurs take advantage of the event to promote and promote their products among the resident and foreign population.
There is a considerable influx of visitors, mostly tourists, who take the opportunity to stroll around and be dazzled by the best the island has to offer.
Traders claim that this event essentially serves to promote their handmade products, as most businesses do not have a physical store and, therefore, use the opportunity to interact with people.
This year’s edition features the participation of 16 local entrepreneurs: Natureza Viva, Dona Xica, Barro Cru, As Marias, Disto Artesanato, Atelier Gatafunhos, Peças minha, Claudia Henriques, Karla Vieira, M13 NATURALS, LUNA BCN, Loja Estimei, Prana Candle, Mi.Jewellery, Catota and Mauimademore/ Maui Sucri.
Thus, there are several design and clothing items on display, including baby items, bags, silk thread necklaces, suede, earrings, rings, items inspired by regional traditions and Christmas decorations.
