IPMA increases the weather warning with rain in the ‘orange’

The IPMA reinforced the bad weather warning for tomorrow, especially for the rain that rises one level to orange on the south coast and mountainous regions, which comes into force from 00:00 to 15:00 on Tuesday, and on the north coast, for the same period, the yellow warning is in force, an area that had not been included in the warnings of recent days.

The 15-hour orange warning period predicts “periods of rain or showers, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms” and “periods of rain or showers, sometimes heavy and occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms”, respectively for the south coast and mountains and on the North coast.

As for the wind, a yellow warning is in force which also lasts from midnight until 6pm tomorrow, with a “southwest wind with gusts of up to 90 km/hour” expected on the south coast and in Porto Santo, with the IPMA points to winds with gusts of up to 110 km/hour in mountainous regions.

Finally, the maritime unrest, a yellow warning is also in force between 9 pm on Tuesday and 5 pm on Wednesday, with “waves from the West/Northwest with 4 to 4.5 meters” high on the North coast, worsened in the South with “waves from the Southwest measuring 4 to 5 meters, becoming waves from the West” and on the coast of Porto Santo “waves from the Western quadrant measuring 4 to 5 meters”, on an island without a yellow or orange rain warning.
