On Sunday there is mega Bolo-Rei to try in Câmara de Lobos

Cake will be around 265 kilograms and over 180 meters long.

Câmara de Lobos once again welcomes the New Year with the sharing of a mega Bolo-Rei. The eighth edition of this initiative, promoted by the City Council, is scheduled for Sunday, January 7th.

This delicious cake, which will be made this year by Pastelaria Nata da Baía, maintains the same dimensions as the previous year, measuring an impressive 180 meters in length and with a total weight of approximately 265 kilograms.

Bolo-Rei production will begin 24 hours before the event, lasting throughout the night to guarantee the freshness of the product.

Praça da Autonomia will be the location chosen for the assembly of the mega Bolo-Rei, starting at 10 am, with the public presentation expected at 11 am. After the presentation, the cake will be cut and distributed to visitors present. As an accompaniment, the traditional ginjinha in a chocolate cup will be offered.

The president of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, will be present at the event, accompanying the city council executive in distributing the cake to those present.

The event will last until 12:30 pm and will feature musical entertainment on the bandstand, where traditional songs related to the festive season will be performed.

This initiative is part of the A Festa program, an action promoted by the municipality in collaboration with local traders. In addition to celebrating Three Kings’ Day, the event aims to boost commercial activity in the city’s downtown.

Previous editions have consistently attracted a large number of people to Praça da Autonomia, already being a reference event during the festive season in Câmara de Lobos and the Region.
