Several ambulances from different corporations in the Region are detained in the Emergency Department of Hospital Dr. Nélio Mendonça due to the lack of stretchers.
According to DIÁRIO, ambulances from the Sapadores do Funchal Firefighters, the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters, the Câmara de Lobos Volunteer Firefighters, the Mixed Firefighters of Ribeira Brava and Ponta do Sol and the Calheta Volunteer Firefighters are on site.
Some of the ambulances have been with patients inside for a few minutes due to the lack of stretchers. This will force other services to wait.
