Wind at Madeira airport caused two more planes to diverted

The wind felt this morning at Cristiano Ronaldo International Airport caused two more aircraft to diverge, which are currently returning to their airport of origin.

The plane TP1709, from the airline TAP, coming from Porto after idling around waiting for an open space to land, ended up having to return to the airport of origin. The same happens with FR285, from low-cost Ryanair, which is now heading to Humberto Delgado Airport, in Lisbon.

As a result of the divergence, TAP flight TP 1710, which was supposed to depart Madeira at 8:45 am for Porto, ended up being cancelled.

As already reported this morning by DIÁRIO, the Azores Airlines aircraft, coming from JFK Airport, New York, which should have arrived at 8:55 am in Madeira also had to divert to Ponta Delgada, Azores.

Meanwhile, the easyJet plane – EJU7751 – after circling around managed to land in Madeira

The maximum gust recorded this Monday, March 15th, was 89 km/h, however in the last hour the maximum wind was 78 km/h. The average wind is 42.1 km/h at the Madeira Airport meteorological station.
