The death of the man recently found floating in the sea of Câmara de Lobos, in Praia do Vigário, has been confirmed, as reported by JM.
The 65-year-old individual was allegedly the victim of a sudden illness followed by a cardiorespiratory arrest while swimming.
The man was in the water for more than 40 minutes, face down, in the drowning position. He was removed from the sea by swimmers from the National Maritime Authority and is headed on a boat to Funchal, where he will be analyzed by the Health Delegate and the Maritime Police, before going to the Forensic Medicine Service at Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
