The man who in 2021 was accused of attacking his own dog with punches and beatings in Travessa dos Moinhos, in Funchal, was sentenced to a fine for animal abuse.
According to the Associação Ajuda a Alimentar Cães, the individual was tried in the Judicial Court of the District of Madeira last Wednesday, having been ordered to pay 325 euros and banned from having companion animals for a period of 18 months.
The association thanks all the witnesses who reported the case and the lawyers who did not give up and fought for the animal cause.
