‘Everything became more beautiful’ with Calema in Calheta.
The brothers António and Fradique Mendes Ferreira – Calema – starred in one of the highlights of São João in Calheta.
Many people went to the town on the west coast of Madeira last night to dance to hits such as ‘A Nossa Dança’, ‘Perfume’ or ‘Te Amo’.
Before that, the traditional popular marches took place, with around 740 marchers, representatives of the eight parishes of the municipality.
Calheta marches move thousands along the waterfront
Calheta is celebrating and tonight is one of the highlights of the Municipality’s Festivities, fulfilling the tradition of the São João marches.
