A 41-year-old Polish tourist fell into the Seixal Natural Pools today.
According to SANAS Madeira, the foreigner “took advantage of one of the lifeguards turning his back and leaned over the pool wall, slipping and falling into the sea.
The first intervention was made with the rescue board and the SANAS Madeira Command, Communication and Control Center was immediately activated, with the Porto Moniz Lifeguard Station immediately activated to provide support in rescuing the victim.
“Evaluating the sea conditions and possible transfer locations, the lifeguard decided to transport the victim, who had bruises on his body, to Praia da Lage, where he was removed and later accompanied to the Seixal Natural Pools where, due to his refusal, he was not transported to a health unit,” SANAS clarified in a statement.
The vessel and crew were demobilized, and SANAS105 resumed its readiness status. This service was provided with the expertise of the Regional Civil Protection Service and the MRSC Funchal.
