A woman, a passenger on a motorcycle, was thrown into the Ribeira de João Gomes, next to the Anadia Shopping Center, in Funchal, after the vehicle she was traveling in collided with a vehicle traveling down Rua Visconde do Anadia.
The injured woman is currently being treated by the Madeiran Volunteer Firefighters, who have mobilized two ambulances, a mountain rescue vehicle, and two support vehicles. The PSP (Public Police) is also present. The woman is alive and is being restrained.
There’s a large presence on site right now, with many people present, and traffic has been blocked downstream while rescue efforts continue. EMIR also recently joined the rescue efforts.
