The Christmas lights in Funchal are due to be switched on Tuesday 8th December, a bank holiday in Portugal.
If you have been watching the Live Webcam today you would have seen a large tree decoration being erected in the new square on the front of Funchal (Praça do Povo), which was left very bare last year.
