The Madeira archipelago registered a replica quake just over half an hour after the magnitude 5.3 earthquake.
According to the IPMA, the quake was recorded at 9:22 pm and reached a magnitude of 2.4 with an epicenter at sea about 35 kilometers south of Câmara de Lobos, in a location roughly close to the site of the first earthquake.
