Jet2 only start in July

Jet2 have just sent a public notice out to say they will only start flights and holidays from July 1st.

So any flights or holidays before this date are all cancelled.

Jet2 is the biggest flight operator from the UK to Madeira, coming from a number of different locations within the UK.

  1. BBC news just saying hopefully it will be a short Temp Quarantine Measure to avoid a massive influx from.Overseas during Popular Summer months ( July / Aug ) as Lockdown Eases in UK. ? Watch this space

  2. Tobi, we are scheduled to arrive mid July. Although we would prefer it to be cancelled. Will we still have to wear masks all over the island. Also in the hotel also wear masks and how does the swimming pool cater for all? Cheecky question but I’m sure it will help others also.

    1. General rule is masks are compulsory inside closed spaces like shops, shopping malls, museums, public transports, etc.

      You don´t have to wear a mask while walking outside. In specific places like restaurants and beaches you are advised to wear a mask while circulating within the space, going to the bathroom, etc. You don´t have to wear a mask while sitting on your towel sunbathing nor while sit in the restaurant table to have a meal. These rules should apply to hotels too.

    2. In outside doações you don’t wear a mask, only if you order at the bar, or go to toilet, round pools and on beaches you wouldn’t wear the mask.

    I’m not rebooking anything until I’m 100% certain that everything is back to normal-ish

  4. Thanks tobi, although I called our hotel yesterday (enotel quinta do sol) to double check and to my amazement they told me its shut until next year march and I should of been notified! I called Expedia and they knew nothing about it. Waiting for a call back in respect of a holiday package cancellation.

  5. Hi I called expedia again and they called Madeira while I waited and it was confirmed that enotel hotels are shut until march next year. So am getting a refund on my trip. Sadly next year only now.

  6. We are due to fly out on 13th July with Easyjet but no one can confirm that they are flying on that date!!

  7. Unfortunately it’s hopeless trying to contact them. Will wait 14 days to see what happens. Keep safe.Brian
