The firefighting helicopter arrived this morning at the port of Caniçal, 15 days before the start of the Operational Program for Combating Forest Fires (POCIF), as the JM had already announced in Sunday’s print edition.
The helicopter was transported on board the ship Funchalense and will remain in the port of Caniçal until the end of next week.
After the propellers and other equipment are assembled, it will travel to the heliport of the Regional Civil Protection Service (SRPC) in Cancela, where it will receive the last adjustments before starting the observation, training and reconnaissance flights, even before the 15th of June , as the JM had already reported.
