TWO PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO ABANDON QUARANTINE IN HOTEL IN MADEIRA

There are eight requests for habeas corpus submitted in Madeira, JM found. From yesterday to today, there was yet another request at the Criminal Investigation Court of Funchal.

These requests come from people who, when they arrive in Madeira, are sent to isolation for 14 days in a hotel and do not agree with the measure, claiming that the State of Emergency has ended and that they prefer to comply with confinement at home.

But, if there are those who refuse to stay 14 days in the hotel, there are also those who insist on quarantining outside from their home, justifying with the fear that, in case of being infected, they may transmit the disease to their family members. The newspaper knows that two people staying at the Vila Galé hotel, one of the units chosen by the government of Madeira to send people arriving in the Region to the mandatory quarantine, expressed their total interest in fulfilling the stipulated period there and only returning to home when they are sure they tested negative for covid-19. This is because they are unable to keep their distance at home and live with other people. In addition, they believe that public health always comes first.
