  3. A very informative video. It appears to be a well run and efficient system apart from the few people on the plane who can’t do as they’re told.
    Sadly we can’t take the risk and cannot come at Xmas. First time in 10yrs. We will miss our ‘home’ and friends in Calheta. ??

  4. Brilliant video and very informative. Tobi, When you fill in the information on your mobile on the Madeira Safe website, does this cover both me and my husband or do I have to complete two separate forms?

    1. You need to do for both with different emails. Save the QR code as a screen shot in your gallery, it’s much quicker to retrieve when here, and you won’t need to have Internet.

  5. very clear and informative and generally reassuring. I was surprised and a little concerned that David implied that self isolating is not really policed in any way. We know there are some personality types who dont give a damn about other people and one of those with Covid could easily become a superspreader. Any clarification you can give on how positive people are managed?

  8. Hi there my post has gone . It was from 12 th October where I received very aggressive testing which left me crying and bleeding . Swab was forced 4 times ! Aggressively up my nose .
    A doctor had commented saying it was totally not needed to push the swab so far up .
    I was distraught and will be complaining to the authorities.

  9. Not a specific question about the testing on arrival but wanted to ask if someone can please advise if mask wearing is still required outside or was that just for August and September.

    We also had the same experience with 2 different nurses. They were extremely aggressive with the swab in both the mouth and nose. My wife (who is a doctor herself and is not easily distressed) was very upset.

    The refusal of the wholly incompetent / poorly trained (or both) staff to stop pushing the swab when causing pain is borderline battery and should be reported to the nursing regulator.

    An earlier comment from Maurice suggested that this was an isolated incident, but I doubt that this is the case (given that 3 of us have had the same experience). Many people don’t know what to expect.

    I have tried to complain and been dismissed and told that of the thousands of visitors I was the only one to complain .
    I am now home and can definitely say it ruined my holiday . I have flashbacks and trouble sleeping , headaches and face pain .
    What can we do about this ?
    I don’t want to see anyone suffer this .
