IASAÚDE issued a statement to clarify the situation regarding the SESARAM doctor infected with covid-19.
“A positive case identified today by the health authorities is a health professional from SESARAM. Epidemiological surveillance is underway and has already concluded that the professional in question has not been in service since October 1st.
The doctor was absent from the Autonomous Region of Madeira and on his return, he was tested at the Screening Center of Madeira International Airport.
Since the date of his return to the Autonomous Region of Madeira, the health professional has remained in isolation and is in full coordination with the health authorities.
We call for the importance of prior validation of information from institutional sources in order to avoid alarmism among the population.
