REGIONAL GOVERNMENT DETERMINES MANDATORY USE OF MASKS FOR CITIZENS FROM 6 YEARS

Miguel Albuquerque announced a few moments ago the new measures approved by the Regional Government to combat the covid-19 pandemic.

The use of a mask has been approved by the Government Council, which will be mandatory for citizens aged 6 years and older in access places and public roads, when physical distance is impracticable, as the President of the Regional Government recently revealed. Press conference.

    1. Try telling this to people where we live – it is horrendous how people feel aggrieved that they should wear a mask! Some people’s mentality is frightening. Where we live this pandemic is going to run and run.

  2. I honestly can’t see a 6 year old child keeping a mask on
    it will be an irritation for them.

    1. Agree. I would expect them to fiddle with them all the time. I would think age 12 upwards would be better.

    2. Masks are already mandatory for 6 year old ones in schools and playgrounds in Madeira since the 1st of September and they are not an issue for them. It is all about how the “grown ups” explain to them why it is needed. If the “grown ups” behave like children saying they don´t want to use the mask because “you can´t tell me what to do” then real children will be less tolerant to wearing masks.

  3. Well done Mr. Albuquerque. Finally. Now we will be back to where we were when we were locked down for a couple of month in spring time. Unfortunately a lot of people ignore recommendations so you have to make rules. Will it apply to joggers who run past you on the pavement panting all over other passers by?
    If parents can’t control a 6 year old child then perhaps they shouldn’t be parents?

    1. It’s a fudge, either you wear a mask at all times when outside your home, in a restaurant, what, or you don’t.

  4. I see mr trunchbull has been commenting on how to subjugate and repress children tell them horror story’s
    about nasty germs that will really scare them.

  5. Masks are going to part of our lives for a longtime, it’s everyones responsibility to educate and encourage children about the benefits of masking. It’s up to us all to show by example we are conscientious and conscious about this pandemic and doing all we can to break its flow.
