The educational institution’s contingency plan has already been activated.

Contact and trace will be underway to try to contain the spread if any of the virus.

  1. Infected tourists + responsible local people = virus contagion in Madeira ?

    Here in the UK it is a largish irresponsible minority who have helped spread the virus . Including irresponsible politicians in both main Parties playing games with our lives.

    Result? Soaring infection numbers, soaring hospitalisations and soaring death numbers . And in some locations the NHS is buckling. Leading to a new Lockdown. In reality of indeterminate length.

    As a Madeira fan – good luck Madeira. Your government, unlike ours, seems unified and has not been forever behind the curve.

    I feel as I know you already!
    I am in Texas right now, and planning to move to Portugal and hopefully settle in Madiera by the end of 2021.
    Thank you so much for keeping everyone up to date—it helps me to plan!

    If possible, is there a portion of your service that includes up to date weather on all parts of the island? This will help me select a portion of Madiera to visit this next summer.

    1. Hi Ellen there is a good app called Madeira Weather, I have it on Android, but not sure if its on Apple, but during the summer nearly everywhere is great. Look forward to meeting you soon.

    2. Because of the shape, or topology, of the island there are a number of micro-climates. The sunniest spot on the island is Ponta do Sol on the south coast. The South coast is the warmer side as it gets the sun. The north coast is generally cooler as it is shaded by the mountain much of the time.

  3. Ipma is the forecast used by many authorities in Madeira. But be aware that the weather can be different from one area to another, rarely the same the Island over.
