Madeira recorded yesterday the tenth victim by covid-19.
Today there are still 26 more positive cases. These are 9 imported cases (7 from the United Kingdom and 2 from the Central Portugal Region) and 17 cases of local transmission, mostly associated with contacts or contexts of previously identified positive cases.
Regarding the cases confirmed today, there is a positive case in the area of health, being a health professional from SESARAM, EPERAM identified within the scope of inta-hospital testing. Two cases are also highlighted in the social area, namely two residents in a residential structure for the elderly, from the private sector, where positive cases had already been identified. Epidemiological research is still ongoing.
Today there are 23 more recovered cases to report, so the region now counts 903 recovered cases of covid-19.
With one more death confirmed today, RAM counts, to date, a total of 10 deaths associated with the new coronavirus.
Health authorities say that she was an 80-year-old patient who “was admitted to the Unit dedicated to covid-19 since 11 December and had multiple associated comorbidities”.
