According to the Regional Directorate of Health, Madeira currently registers 123 new cases of covid-19. These are three imported cases (two from France and one from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region) and 120 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with positive case contacts or contexts.
There are still 294 new situations that are being studied by the health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM.
At the moment, there are 1875 active cases, of which 112 are imported cases and 1763 are cases of local transmission.
Currently, there are 74 people hospitalized (70 people in Multipurpose Units and four in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19) and 42 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation.
A total of 79 recovered cases today.
The Region has recorded, to date, a total of 31 deaths associated with the disease.
