Madeira registers 111 new cases of covid-19 this Thursday

This Thursday, Madeira registers 111 new positive cases of covid-19, bringing the total number of cases to 3,078 since the beginning of the pandemic in the Region. The new cases detected report to 108 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases. There are also three imported cases: 2 from Germany and one from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region.

This Thursday there are also 38 cases recovered, as well as the 23rd death associated with covid-19 in the Region, namely a 67-year-old man who died this morning at his home.

At the moment, there are 1,404 active cases, of which 128 are imported cases and 1,276 are cases of local transmission. It should be noted that 57 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 1,280 are in their own accommodation and 67 people are currently hospitalized (62 in Multipurpose Units and 5 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19).

In addition to these confirmed cases, there are 199 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM.

With regard to the total number of contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20), it now amounts to 30,707 calls and the Psychological Support Line of the Regional Health Department (291 212 399) counts to date 2,600 calls.
