Today there are 106 new cases of coronavirus in Madeira.
These are 4 imported cases (2 from the United Kingdom, 1 from Italy and 1 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region) and 102 cases of local transmission, most of them already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases.
“With regard to today’s positive cases, six of them correspond to professionals in the education sector identified within the scope of the ongoing screening in educational and teaching establishments in the municipality of Machico”, says the Regional Health Directorate.
This Wednesday there were 56 more recovered cases to report, with 1332 cases now being active and there are still 343 suspected cases.
64 people are now hospitalized, 9 of them in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19.
