Madeira registers 86 more positive cases and 151 recovered

This Thursday, Madeira recorded 86 more positive cases and also 151 more recovered from covid-19. With regard to the new cases, 83 are of local transmission and two are from Poland and one from France.

The epidemiological bulletin for the region continues to account for 60 deaths associated with covid-19.

At the moment, there are 1,640 active cases, which concern 46 imported cases and the rest were of local transmission. There are 57 people who are hospitalized at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, of which only three remain in the Intensive Care Unit. As for the two patients from Lisbon, one remains in the Intensive Care Unit and the other in the Multipurpose Unit. In addition to these, 33 patients are in a hotel unit for isolation and the rest are in their own accommodation.

The Regional Health Directorate says that in total, there are 280 situations that are currently under consideration by health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.

With regard to the active surveillance of positive case contacts, 1,658 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo. There are still 3,713 people who are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
