The airline has prepared an Easter operation to link the Region to Germany.

A32O arrives in Madeira at 4:15 pm next Saturday, news that was very well accepted by ANA- Aeroportos Portugal.

  2. Just as infection rates are rising as the third Covid wave hits Germany(also France, Neterlands & Italy).

    On a separate note, several news sources are reporting the Ryanair are opening up 26 new routes and increasing flights to Portugal and other places (Spain & Greece?). Unfortunately, no mention of which airports will be used!

  3. The level of COVID-19 in Germany: As of 23 March 2021 Persons currently Infected 179,697 . . and it’s rising NOT declining. Total COVID-19 cases as of 23 March 2021 2,689,205 . .

  5. I do hope that Madeira will insist on vaccination evidence from the Germans. It seems like complete madness to let them in. Let’s hope your infection rates continue to stay low.

  6. With Germany in the midst of an horrendous 3rd wave, who in their right mind is allowing Germans to travel abroad. How in the name of all that is Holy is this allowed. In my opinion this is downright reckless and flies in the face of all that we are trying to achieve globally. If this is allowed to happen then the Governor of Madeira should hang his head in shame.

    1. The governor of Madeira has done what the rest of Europe should have done. Everyone from anywhere is free to travel, everyone can fly to Madeira provided either they show a negative test or get tested in the airport and self isolate while waiting for results.

      The ones that should be ashamed are to ones who are fining people for travelling, the ones that are imposing 2000£ quarantine at hotel, the ones who have created “red lists”, the ones who ban flights and people from certain countries. Those are the ones that should be ashamed.

      1. Well UK tourists haven’t been allowed in. I realise that was a national decision but it still included Madeira.

        1. As you said, that was a decision from the Portuguese FCO to which Madeira could do nothing about it since it is the national laws that regulate the airside. If you look at the news at that time, there were some British people who were stranded at the aircraft, and the Government of Madeira said that was unnecessary even though it could do nothing about it as that were nationwide laws. The government of Madeira created rules regarding testing that never treated anyone differently and did not ban anyone from flying. The rules applied to everyone, Madeirean people, Portuguese nationals and foreign nationals. Right now there are tourists arriving from Poland and Czech Republic, no ban in place, just the same rules as ever. This is the way forward, not this mess created by other governements across Europe that say “tell us where you are coming from and we will tell you if you are welcome or not”. Total mess.

    I Agree with antonio Lamas everybody who Go into an airplaine Must be Tested …and After Landing again , but the best will be :Stay at Home !!!
    I Booked Madeira for September and Hope until than i get already the vaccine ?

  9. Just has the numbers of cases are reducing in Madeira we see more potential cases entering and potentially spreading the virus.

    Everdence and statistics show that the covid single test is not very accurate.
    I should be the 2 test system, like returning residents have to take.

    Also there are those who will continue to not isolate prior to test results, and isolate at home if infected.

    Meanwhile it’s the population of Madeira who need the vaccine.
    It’s so slow the roll out, The government have done a great job but are failing in this area.
    Get the population vaccined and then open the doors and get the economy going.

    Those entering with the vaccine who are 96 % safe unlikely the population of Madeira.

  13. The Condor flight from Düsseldorf is just one more. I think there are already three other each week. Currently it is not forbidden to leave Germany. This happened last in communist times, when it was forbidden to leave the “DDR” direction west.
    Unfortunately the “occupation” of Mallorca around last weekend made a lot people unhappy. Especially Mrs. Merkel, which is trying now to figure out a lawful possibility to forbid leaving the country for vacation. I do not hope that she succeeds.
    Currently MadeiraSafe has again more than 5600 tourist under control, even with curfew. Nearly similar size as November last year. Also Mallorca had a curfew and thousands of tourists arrive. So I do not think that the curfew is really blocking the tourism. Increasing infection rates would do.

  14. Can anyone explain why flight to the UK from Lisbon have been suspended until.April 15tg.

    1. The Government extended until April 15 the suspension of flights with the United Kingdom and Brazil and the 14-day prophylactic isolation will also apply to the land border for high-risk countries.
      According to a note from the executive, only repatriation flights and citizens arriving in Portugal from Brazil and the United Kingdom are allowed on repatriation flights or via stopovers, as well as from South Africa or countries with an equal incidence rate. or more than 500 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (such as France or Italy) must not only present proof of negative test, but also have to carry out a period of prophylactic isolation of 14 days.
