Madeira counts 50 new cases and 194 more recovered

This Thursday, Madeira counts 50 more cases of local transmission of covid-19. Conversely, there are 194 recovered to report.

The report by the Regional Health Directorate indicates that Madeira now has 893 active cases of covid-19, following the 50 new cases reported today, as well as 194 more recovered.

To date, Madeira counts 64 deaths associated with this disease.

Among the active cases, 16 are imported cases and the remaining 877 are for local transmission. It should be noted that 45 people are hospitalized at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, 37 of which are hospitalized in Multipurpose Units and 8 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19). There are also 16 people in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest remaining in their own accommodation.

On the other hand, health authorities are studying 96 situations that are related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM.

The same report indicates that 1,135 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the various municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo and 3,597 people are also being monitored by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
