The Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere issued an orange warning for rain, which applies to Madeira and Porto Santo, between 6 am and 12 pm on Wednesday, March 31.
Forecasts point to periods of rain or heavy showers and accompanied by thunderstorms. In fact, this indication had already been given by the Regional Government itself last Sunday.
In the meantime, the director of the Meteorological Observatory has already confirmed that there is no reason to be alarmed. In yesterday’s edition of MAIS Diário, Victor Prior addressed the forecasts for this Wednesday, which will not be as serious as those experienced at the weekend.
It should be noted that between 3 am and 6 am tomorrow there will be a yellow warning for precipitation, then the orange. The warning turns yellow again, for the same reasons, between 12 noon and 3 pm on Wednesday.
In the Mountainous Regions and on the South Coast of Madeira, there will be a yellow warning regarding the strong wind, between 6 am and 12 pm tomorrow. The wind will be from the south quadrant moderate to strong with gusts up to 70 km/h.
