WOMAN STABBED BY HER ADOPTED SON IN CANIÇO IS FREE FROM DANGER

The 68-year-old woman stabbed this morning in Caniço by her adopted son, is free from danger, JM learned from a hospital source.

The victim suffered seven injuries from blows with a bladed weapon. The stab wounds caused superficial wounds, not reaching vital organs.

The same source guaranteed that the injuries did not endanger the life of the woman, who was promptly rescued by the Firefighters of Santa Cruz and also by the EMIR medical team.

As for the alleged perpetrator, he was detained by the police while still at his residence. He, too, was assisted at the hospital and is going to a psychiatric establishment in Funchal, where he will undergo treatment and await the course of the judicial investigation that will take place.

The police are investigating the attempted murder of the boy who allegedly suffers from a psychiatric illness.
