  2. Sorry I don’t know how to use this site to ask questions. Madeira safe…..does each person need to register or just lead passenger. I can’t get my husband registered despite trying several times

  6. Pestana Grand. Used to stay there and liked it – and Bruno’s just outside! But happier at the Varlton these last few years as closer to town so easier access to more things. Pool usually warmer too!

  9. It IS the Pestana Grand. We have an Options scheme here and loved it until the last time we went there about 2017/2018. I know we couldn’t ask for a particular room under this scheme then but when we went we were put into a room overlooking the pool but you couldn’t see anything apart from a wall with flowers planted at the top. You couldn’t see the pool at all. It was really dark too. When we asked to be transferred to a higher level we were told it would cost us more ‘points’ as higher levels were more costly. This had never happened to us before and nor had we been told about it. Since then we’ve never been back, which is a shame as we liked the Grand so much. We now go to the Carlton which is nearer to the Centre and is also lovely but we were really disappointed at the way we had been treated at the Grand.
