There is a (high) probability of precipitation on New Year’s Eve in Madeira. The forecast from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) – subject to daily updates – points to the weekend (31st and 1st) “periods of rain or temporarily moderate showers, throughout the Madeira Archipelago” , says Victor Prior, IPMA regional delegate in Madeira.
After the depression centered between the Archipelagos of Madeira and the Canary Islands that brought bad weather in the Region at the beginning of the week, from Saturday, the 31st, a new worsening is expected, a consequence of the “approach and passage of a cold frontal surface”, justifies the meteorologist.
This is something that all the experts are keeping an eye on, and will be updated regularly over the coming days.
