A landslide, which occurred on the night of Thursday, November 30th, cut off Regional Road 223, in the Paul do Mar area, and also affected public lighting in the area.
To DIÁRIO, the president of the Paul do Mar parish council, Paulo Rodrigues, warns that this is the third collapse in the road connection between Fajã da Ovelha and Estreito da Calheta.
“On the same day there were three landslides on the same access. The rockfall was reported to the Regional Civil Protection Service, which carried out the clean-up, but later, at 10 pm, a larger landslide occurred which prevented car circulation and also destroying public lighting in the area”, he says.
The Regional Civil Protection Service and the Regional Roads Directorate went to the site today to clean up the debris.
