Rescues in the Madeira mountains will be paid in 2024

Go against the rules and expect a massive fine, as these rescues are not a small amount of money, they cost 100s of  euros per hour.

Pedro Ramos says that anyone who does not comply with the “rules” and “recommendations” will be penalized.

The regional secretary of Health and Civil Protection points to the first quarter of next year for the entry into force of the measure that aims to make ransoms paid in the mountains of Madeira.

It was at the end of this morning, on the sidelines of the 1st Regional Meeting of Informal Caregivers, that Pedro Ramos realized that the matter is being analyzed by the different areas of the Regional Government that have a ‘vote’ on the matter, namely the Secretariat Regional Health and Civil Protection, the Regional Secretariat for Agriculture and Environment and the Regional Secretariat for Tourism and Culture.

“Right now there is a document that was designed by the Regional Secretariat of Health and Civil Protection, which is in the possession of the other departments, to prepare a final document on how this aid could have other implications, in terms of payments”, he said. the government official, clarifying that “any assistance that has to be provided, in which the rules that are implemented are not being complied with, this assistance must have its costs”, he added.

Regarding informal caregivers, Pedro Ramos highlighted the important role played by these people and promised more financial and training support for the coming years, since, as he mentioned, the Regional Government is committed to investing in the greater longevity of Madeirans.

The government official highlighted the challenge this represents, arguing, for example, with the focus on Long-Term Care, whose regulatory diploma has already been discussed. The support to be made available will focus more on the home, since, as he noted, people who are institutionalized already have support.

“Informal caregivers will play a very important role in this multidisciplinary approach to monitoring these situations”, with the regional secretary highlighting the role of Social Services in articulating all variables.

The 1st Regional Meeting of Informal Caregivers brought together more than 100 of these caregivers at Colégio dos Jesuítas, this Monday, in a moment that served to symbolically honor, through their guardianship, these people who dedicate themselves to caring for those close to them.
