‘La Vie’ shopping center will be renamed ‘Plaza Madeira’ from today

‘Plaza Madeira’ is the new name of the shopping center that for eight years was called ‘La Vie’. The venture opened its doors this Tuesday, January 16th, with a new name and new management, in charge of Multi Portugal.

The shopping center was recently acquired by the open real estate investment fund CA Património Crescente, a fund managed by Square Asset Management. The space now aims to establish itself as an unavoidable point of passage and visitation for those who live, work and visit not only the center of Funchal, but also the entire region.

Simultaneously with this change of management, a rebranding operation was carried out, materialized in the new brand ‘Plaza Madeira’, with a differentiating and modern image.

“The name ‘Plaza’ is associated with a convivial space, a common area that catalyzes many types of meetings and interests, as is the case here. The name refers to urban convenience, made up of symbolic exchanges and dialogue”, he explains the management company in a note issued.

“The symbol represents the plan of the building and its 3 floors. It also refers to a meeting point, as it resembles a location pin”.

The positioning as a true meeting point for the city and the Region is reflected in the signature of ‘Plaza Madeira’ – ‘Passa por aqui’, “the motto for a visit to a must-visit place for shopping, leisure and entertainment, and the epicenter of events, in close connection with the traditions and festive moments of the Region, which will be made known soon”.

‘Plaza Madeira’, managed by Multi Portugal, presents itself to the market with a fresh and appealing image, a new and differentiating approach, focused on the fashion and lifestyle segments, and with a clear commitment to constant qualification of the range of brands and services available to visitors.

IKEA Planning Study, Pepe Jeans, Skechers, UCB, Geox, Scalpers and Flying Tiger are brands present exclusively in the shopping center, which are joined as main anchor stores by Worten, Massimo Dutti, SportZone, Cortefiel, Tiffosi, Denim and the Pingo Doce supermarket.
