Maritime Police seize nine fishing traps in the Caniçal area

The National Maritime Authority informed, in a statement, that members of the Forensic Diving Group of the Funchal Maritime Police Local Command seized nine fishing traps today, during an inspection in the Caniçal area, on the island of Madeira.

​”During this action, nine fishing traps, called “pits”, were detected, which were not identified, and the Maritime Police prepared the respective report and seized, as a precautionary measure, the fishing gear”, explains the authority.

Four members of the local command of the Funchal Maritime Police were involved in this inspection action, supported by a vessel.
