The president of Funchal City Council, Pedro Calado, and businessman Avelino Farinha, from the AFA Group, were arrested this Wednesday, as part of ongoing investigations in Madeira and elsewhere in the country, which also involve Miguel Albuquerque, due to suspicions of corruption.
The information has been provided by several national media outlets, namely the Observador.
According to the aforementioned newspaper Calado and Avelino Farinha were arrested “to be taken before a criminal investigation judge to apply coercive measures”.
