Despite the lower temperature, some bathers returned today to the Clube Naval do Funchal area to swim before the expected rain arrives.
However, they were surprised by a brownish stain in the sea which, according to what was possible to determine, was not dirt, but rather algae.
I have seen photos of this on Facebook from the Caniço area, and it is algae which has started to wash up on the beaches.
