Two arrested for drug trafficking upon arrival of Lobo Marinho in Porto Santo

Two men residing in Porto Santo, aged 22 and 32, were arrested this Thursday for drug trafficking, upon the arrival of the ship Lobo Marinho on the golden island.

According to a statement issued by the PSP, the first detainee, aged 22, is a foreigner and was intercepted in possession of 35 doses of hashish hidden in his underwear.

The other detainee, aged 32, is Portuguese and was intercepted after a summary search in possession of 3 doses of cocaine and 1.11g of an undetermined product (suspected to be the drug commonly known as ‘gorby’).

The PSP also reported that there were suspicions that this last individual may have drugs in his body, which is why he was transported to the local Health Center, where they were able to determine that he had three packages inside his body, which were eventually expelled. “Two of the packages, with a gross weight of more than 25 grams, contained a product known as ‘bloom’ and the third package, with a gross weight of approximately 10 grams, contained a product identified by the suspect as being a drug commonly known as ‘ gorby’”, said the police.

The investigative steps followed, with the citizens being considered defendants and subject to the less serious coercive measure of Identity and Residence Term.
