Albuquerque continues official visits without inviting the media

Shamed president still keeping low key.

The resigned president of the Regional Government of Madeira, Miguel Albuquerque, has continued official visits to recognize ongoing public investments. Contrary to what was usual, the media has not been called upon to monitor the movements.

This Tuesday, February 20th, the Madeiran government official visited the work to improve the irrigation water supply in Lombo do Salão, in the municipality of Calheta, as stated on the executive’s official page.

This is an investment of 1.8 million euros, co-financed by PRODERAM, for an irrigation water reservoir with a capacity of 3000 m3, which will benefit more than 716 irrigators and 673 agricultural holdings.

The new reservoir is part of the ongoing project to expand and improve water storage and supply conditions for irrigators supplied by the Calheta-Ponta do Pargo Irrigation System, promoted through ARM. The Madeiran executive reveals that he intends to invest 70 million euros in capturing waste water for irrigation.
