The coercive measures against the three defendants detained as part of the alleged corruption case in the Autonomous Region of Madeira will be applied by the criminal investigation judge on Wednesday, February 14, according to a judicial source.
Pedro Calado, Avelino Farinha and Custódio Correia remain detained in the Judiciary Police cells. On Wednesday they will serve three weeks in detention.
After listening to the Public Ministry’s promotion – which today requested preventive detention for the three defendants – and the defense’s allegations, magistrate Jorge Bernardes de Melo opted for four days of consideration, taking advantage of the interruption of work at the Justice Campus on account of Carnival.
The investigation is scheduled for 3 pm at the Central Criminal Investigation Court, in Lisbon.
