The traditional Festa dos Compadres, in Santana, marks this Thursday, February 1st, the beginning of Carnival festivities in the region.
The event, known for the gigantic figures that roam the main streets of Santana, begins today at 12 pm with the launch of fire. The Comadres are scheduled to arrive at the Town Hall at 7:30 pm.
Today, then, is Thursday of the Comadres, where they meet, in secret, and choose the compadre on where their revenge will fall.
As already reported by DIÁRIO, this ‘party’ cost the local authority more than 15 thousand euros.
