“No politician should resign because he is accused”, says Sá e Cunha

You really can’t make this up… Just making himself look stupid now.

Paulo Sá e Cunha once again emphasizes that Pedro Calado’s resignation was not related to the legal process.

Lawyer Paulo Sá e Cunha reiterated this Tuesday, February 6th, his position that “no politician should resign because he is accused”.

Upon leaving the Central Court of Criminal Instruction, Pedro Calado’s agent made it clear that his resignation from the position of president of the Funchal City Council “had nothing to do with the judicial process” of alleged corruption in Madeira, but rather “with reasons of a political nature”.

The first judicial interrogation of Pedro Calado, the last of three defendants to be heard by the criminal investigation judge, continues tomorrow. The lawyer expects that the question and answer phase could end this Wednesday.
