From this afternoon, will will have strong g winds, and this will continue all this week until Saturday. It could well bring some airport problems, through this week, which I will keep a eye on.
The Port Authority of Funchal received, from the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere, the general situation of the weather (wind and sea) for the seafront, until 6 am local time on February 27th, referring to the Madeira archipelago, issuing new warnings on Monday morning.
Until Tuesday morning, the wind will blow from the northeast, very fresh to strong, and waves may reach 3.5 meters.
Therefore, the Captaincy alerts “the entire maritime community and the population in general to take care, both when preparing to go to sea, and when they are at sea or in coastal areas”, namely:
– Reinforce mooring and maintain close surveillance of moored and anchored vessels;
– Avoid walks near the sea or in areas exposed to sea disturbances, such as the protective jetties of ports, cliffs or beaches, to avoid being surprised by a wave.
