Miguel Albuquerque justifies the tight deadline for elections in the PSD-M as the only way to guarantee the election of the new leadership before March 24th, the date from which the President of the Republic can make a decision on the future of the current regional governance.
He also challenges possible opponents to take on the candidacy for leadership of the PSD-M.
“There can be no mental reservations or doubts. The electoral process is open. It is a democratic process, it is a process that complies with the statutes and therefore, I stand by it. Anyone who wants to show their face should do so now. It is not for there to be recriminations afterwards”, he reacted on the sidelines of visiting the company in the Ribeira Brava Business Park.
Therefore, he devalues the defined timings, not only because he does not violate the Statutes, but also because he believes he is the best in what he says is “a strategy for the party”.
Defining the new direction before March 24th is for Albuquerque “a matter of responsibility” in a party that is “leading”, he emphasizes.
He reinforces that the PSD-M “is not a party for a parade of egos. Whoever is waiting on the couch better speak out now. There is no excuse for not going to elections now. Don’t make excuses because there are no excuses. The electoral process is open.”
